Volunteers

The Winter Wings Festival is produced by the Klamath Basin Audubon Society, a chapter of the National Audubon Society. The key volunteer group plans and organizes the festival year-round beginning in March. Key volunteers are responsible for program planning, publicity, community outreach, operations, hospitality, transportation, fundraising, volunteer coordination and registration.

If you are interested in becoming a key volunteer, contact us:

For the Festival weekend, we need about 60-80 more general volunteers to staff the festival. General volunteers help vendors set-up and take down their displays, welcome attendees, answer questions, take attendance, collect evaluation forms, staff receptions, to name a few examples. We welcome the participation of community groups, science and photography clubs, scouts, 4-H, other youth groups, and other interested individuals.

For information on general volunteer opportunities, please contact the WWF info line at 877-541-BIRD and leave a message. General volunteers who work less than 40 hours may attend either the Friday or the Saturday night keynote for free. General volunteers may register for their keynote choice on-line, as well as for many of the volunteer opportunities when registration goes live in December using the upcoming TRS link on the registration page.
