Workshops:
Ron Larson has merged his passion for native plants and birding by creating a wildlife habitat at his Klamath Falls home. The first thing he did after arriving here 8 years ago was to replace his front lawn with rock gardens and a border of trees and shrubs. Every year, he continues to add new plants which are often grown from seeds he collects locally.
Ron regularly shares his enthusiasm for native plants and naturescaping through lectures and field trips. Ron is an active member of the Native Plant Society of Oregon (Klamath Basin Chapter), and leads several field trips annually. This will be his third year of doing a naturescape workshop at OIT for the February birding festival now known as Winter Wings. Ron says the workshops have been very rewarding and he has made many new friends. In fact, this year, Ron will be teaching this class with landscape designers Eric Strickland and Amy Thompsonwho have a newly established design company called 9610 located at 9610 Highway 39, in Klamath Falls.
