Robert E. (Bob) Gasser is co-owner of Basin Fertilizer and Chemical Co., located in the heart of the Klamath Basin in Merrill, Oregon. Gasser founded the independent business in 1975 when he was 22. Since the Klamath Basin straddles the state lines of Southern Oregon and Northern California, Gasser is a Certified Crop Advisor and Applicator in both states. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Agricultural Retailers Assoc., California Plant Health Association, FarWest AgriBusiness Association and is on the Executive Board of the Klamath Water Users Association, specializing in public relations, media, and legislative issues. A fourth generation, life-long resident of Klamath County, Bob is engaged in proactive efforts to maintain water and private property rights while fostering growth in the Basin's abundant wildlife populations.
