David is presenting a Research paper entitled "The Fox and the Eagle: A Cautionary Tale of What Happens When You Mess with Mother Nature"
David Garcelon is founder and president of the Institute for Wildlife Studies, a non-profit wildlife conservation organization dedicated to conserving wildlife populations and the habitats upon which they depend. David started the Institute while still an undergraduate student at Humboldt State University. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in wildlife management at Humboldt State and has since taught classes and lectured at the University. He initiated the reintroduction of bald eagles back to the California Channel Islands in 1980 and began studying island fox ecology in 1988. Mr. Garcelon has published numerous scientific papers and speaks regularly on conservation topics. David currently oversees the Institute for Wildlife Studies wildlife programs in the South Pacific, Africa, and Asia, as well as in the US.
