Philip Carr

Retired Aero-Space Manufacturing Engineer

Workshops:

Philip retired from Northrop Grumman in 2000 as a Manufacturing Engineer after a 45 year career in the Aero-Space Industry. Program highlights from his career include the SR71 Blackbird, the Space Shuttle, the Stealth Bomber, and the B-2 Spirit.

A native of Oklahoma, Philip grew up and worked his entire career in Southern California before retiring to the Klamath Basin in December, 2000. After arriving in the Klamath Basin, Philip and his wife, Nancy, soon discovered "Birding". Birding is now Nancy and Philip's favorite pastime and hobby.

With the desire to accelerate their learning, and gain experience from experts, Philip and Nancy joined the local and national chapters of the Audubon Society in 2002. With the experience and appreciation of several local Audubon Society field trips with expert leaders such as Charlotte Anne Kisling, Ken Johnston, and others, Philip decided to volunteer to lead the 2005 Eagle Fly Out and "Birding the Basin" field trips. Inspired by the fulfillment and experience gained in leading the 2005 excursions, Philip has enthusiastically volunteered to lead them again in 2006.
