Favell Finley Exhibit

The Favell Museum will host Put A Bird On It: Nature Photography of William L. Finley, a traveling exhibition celebrating Finley, a nationally known bird photographer, naturalist, and advocate for wildlife preservation. This exhibit provides a stunning and unique glimpse through his lens. Finley, the “Father of Oregon’s National Wildlife Refuges,” helped set up Oregon’s federal wildlife refuge system. If not for Finley, the great marshes of Klamath, Tule and Malheur might have been lost forever. Featuring forty of Finley’s bird photographs (1902 –1920), these photographs are considered to be of the very best quality for the era.

Janann Loetscher, Executive Director of the Favell Museum, says: “We are excited to feature such a large amount of Finley’s bird photographs. They are truly outstanding and give you such an appreciation for our place here in the Pacific Flyway. This exhibit is a great kick off for the Winter Wings Festival, but will be available for viewing through April. Don’t miss it!”
