Jr. & Sr. High School Student Art Contest
February 18 - 20, 2011
THEME: Klamath Basin Inhabitants or Habitats
Guidelines
- Art must feature Klamath Basin inhabitants or habitats. Must be native wildlife, animals, birds, landscapes, plants, in any season.
- Limited to 2-dimensional work (oils, water color, sketches, pen, ink etc.). No sculptures.
- Art will be grouped in division; Jr. (7-8-9) & Sr.(10-11-12) grades.
- Best of Show will receive a ribbon and award.
- Place ribbons and an award will be given for 1st, 2nd 3rd, and ribbons for honorable mentions for each division.
- One art piece per student.
- NO tracing or written expression on art is allowed! Students may work from photographs, taxidermy models, creative interpretation is encouraged.
- Art work may be matted. NO FRAMES ALLOWED! Art work (including mat) can not exceed 16 x 20 inches.
- Artist must use and attach provided name tags to back of mat so that the tag can be folded up for judging and visible for viewing afterwards. No names on art.
- Judging will be the morning of Feb.18, 2011. Submissions will be screened by a member of the Klamath Basin Audubon Society for compliance with native Klamath Basin inhabitant or habitat guidelines.
- All art work will be on display Feb. 18 -19th at Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) , 3201 Campus Drive, Klamath Falls OR.
- Art delivery: All schools including private schools and home schooled students must deliver their art to the Klamath County District Office, (10501 Washburn Way) or to the Klamath Falls City District Office, (1336 Avalon St.) by 5:00 pm Monday Feb. 14, 2011 .
- Art return: Art will be returned to respective schools. Home schooled students need to pick up art at OIT by noon Sunday Feb. 20th unless other arrangements have been made with the art coordinator.
We are limiting the number of art submissions from each school. There will be only ONE entry per student with no more than 20 entries per school. Home school students are restricted to one entry per student.
It is important that you abide by the rules so that student's art will not be disqualified. The Art Contest Director will interpret the rules and may disqualify any entry at anytime at his/her discretion for violations. All decisions are final.
