Liz Diver
Liz began rehabilitating wildlife in the 1970s, when a customer brought an injured mockingbird in to a pet store where she worked. Not knowing where to turn, she bandaged its broken wing and nursed it back to health. Then, she experienced the thrill of releasing a creature back into the wild, which would have died if left on its own.
Since then, she has worked with several wildlife rehabilitation groups and obtained her Bachelors degree from the University of California at San Diego in Animal Behavior, Ecology and Evolution. She spent several years working for a local veterinarian who treats wildlife, and finally achieved her dream of opening her own not-for-profit wildlife rehabilitation facility, Badger Run Wildlife Rehab, in Keno, OR in 2004. Though licensed to rehabilitate mammals and reptiles/amphibians as well, she specializes in raptors and other birds. Liz is also very active in providing educational presentations with some of the non-releasable birds at schools, public events such as Winter Wings and Migratory Bird Day, and other not-for-profit venues, to educate the public on proper management and stewardship of our natural resources and wildlife.
