Jesse Grantham
Jesse Grantham is a biologist with the US Fish and Wildlife Service where he is serving as the California Condor Coordinator and Team Leader for the Condor Field Program in southern California. He has been with the Service since February of 2004. Previous to this work he was a biologist with the National Audubon Society where he served in many capacities for 24 years. Ironically his first assignment with the Society was with the newly formed California Condor Research Center, a joint effort in 1980 by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and National Audubon Society. He remained with the program from 1980 until 1986 when all condors were brought into captivity. During his tenure with Audubon he worked with Brown Pelicans, whooping cranes, reddish egrets, snowy and piping plovers, as well as migratory songbird issues in Texas, habitat restoration efforts in the Sacramento Valley , the Rio Grande Valley, and the Missisippi River delta. He was the Director of Western Sanctuaries for National Audubon, Executive Director of Audubon's Missisippi State office, and Director of Bird Conservation for Audubon's Texas state office. He retired from National Audubon in December of 2003.
