Everyone loves owls! We are captivated by the beauty, mystery, and charm of these nocturnal birds. But, science is still unlocking many of the secrets of owl biology and ecology, and there is a great deal still to be discovered about these birds. Scott Weidensaul, naturalist, author, and the festival's featured speaker, will take us into the enigmatic world of owls. This presentation will reveal some of the surprising discoveries Scott and his volunteer research team have made about owls, with a special focus on northern saw-whet owls, a little-known species they have been studying for more than a decade.
