2016 Winter Wings Festival Photo Contest

The Winter Wings Festival (WWF) is sponsoring a photo contest and winning images will be featured on our website, www.WinterWingsFest.org. Images should include bird(s) that were found in the general area of the Klamath Basin and photographed during the 2016 festival, February 11-14, 2016. We encourage anyone with a great bird shot – amateur or professional – to enter. Images must feature birds that are native to the Klamath Basin. Photos should not be digitally manipulated in order to change the nature of the composition. Minor adjustments such as cropping, adjusting exposure, shadows or highlights or sharpening the image are acceptable. Images must be taken between sunrise February 11, 2016 and sunset February 14, 2016.

Images will be judged based on their Composition, Artistic Merit, Technical Quality, Depiction of their Subject Matter, and Overall Impact. A panel of judges appointed by the Winter Wings Festival will review the photos based on this criteria. All decisions of the judges are final. Winners will be announced and on display at www.WinterWingsFest.org by March 11, 2016.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and honorable mentions will be awarded:

First Place Prize: $100 credit toward 2017 Winter Wings Festival registration.

Second Place Prize: $50 credit toward 2017 Winter Wings Festival registration.

Third Place Prize: $25 credit toward 2017 Winter Wings Festival registration.

Honorable Mention: Featured on website.

People’s Choice: After judging, all winners will be posted the Winter Wings Festival facebook page and the image that receives the most facebook “likes” by September 30, 2016 will receive an additional $50 credit toward the 2017 Winter Wings Festival registration.

Entering the Contest - Applicants may submit up to three digital images in .jpg format via e-mail to: moc.l1458222656iamg@1458222656otohp14582226566102F1458222656WW1458222656. Each image should include the name of the artist submitting the entry. No watermarks or text on the image. Minimum Resolution requirement is 800 pixels high or 1200 pixels wide and Maximum file size not to exceed 10Mb. Winter Wings Festival reserves the right to disqualify any image at their discretion for any reason. We will also accept entries from memory card at the Leo’s Camera Shop booth all day Saturday February 13, 2016 and until noon on Sunday February 14, 2016.

Contest Terms and Conditions

1. The contest is open to amateur or professional photographers and is subject to the laws of Oregon.
2. No entry fee is required. Entrants may submit a maximum of three images to the contest. Duplicate submissions will not be considered

4. The Winter Wings Festival reserves the right to cancel or modify the rules of the contest at any time.

By submitting your photographs in this contest, you hereby grant to the Winter Wings Festival a royalty-free, non-exclusive, and perpetual right to copy, edit, adapt, distribute, perform, display and/or use these photographic images, including any derivative works created from these materials, in whole or in part, for use in the Winter Wings Festival promotional materials. In addition, you grant to Winter Wings Festival the royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual right for the use of your name and biographical information in connection with the use of these materials. Contestants certify that they are at least 18 years old and have the right to grant the contest sponsors all the rights granted herein and that these materials are your original work and are not owned by any other person or entity. You represent that the materials, the creation of the materials and the use of the materials do not violate any law or regulation and do not infringe the rights of any person or entity, including copyright or trademark rights or rights of privacy or publicity. Contestants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Winter Wings Festival from any loss, claim, damage or expense arising from the use of these materials or your breach of this agreement, including the above representations. Parental consent to all of these terms must be submitted for contestants under the age of 18.
