K - 6th Grade Art Contest
Theme: Birds & Habitats of the Klamath Basin
Art will be displayed February 1-11, 2010 at the Klamath Falls City School District Office, 1336 Avalon St., Klamath Falls.
The winning art for each grade will be displayed at the Oregon Institute of Technology College Union, 3201 Campus Drive, Klamath Falls, from February 12-14, 2010.
Art and prizes will be delivered to respective schools after the Winter Wings Festival.
Judging Criteria
Judging will be done by noon February 1, 2010. Judges will be looking for works that are outstanding in:
- Using experiences and imagination to create a work of art that demonstrates an idea or feeling about the bird or other wildlife appropriate for each grade level
- Presenting the beauty of the bird or other wildlife in its natural setting.
- Using an outstanding technique
- Use of color
- Originality
Guidelines
- Media: paint, pencil, chalk, collage, or other materials.
- No tracing will be allowed.
- Size 12" x 18" paper only please.
- Labels should be filled out and attached on the back lower right corner. See example.
Name, grade, teacher, and school written on back of art piece on labels provided. No names on front of art, please.
- Submit only the top 4 art pieces, per grade level, per school.
Awards
There will be ribbons and prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and Honorable Mention.
Deadline All students including private schools and home schools must deliver art to the Klamath County (10501 Washburn Way) or Klamath Falls City (1336 Avalon Street) School District Offices by Friday, January 29, 2010.
